A few things to consider before seeking a relationship with a Filipina.
So you have a friend that married a Filipina. Or maybe you heard that the Philippines is a good place to find a wife. This may be true in many cases, but not all of them. The Philippines is made up of 7,107 islands with even more variations in culture and over 170 languages and dialects. With that being said, here are a few things that ring true for the vast majority of them.
Family is by far the most important aspect of the Philippine culture. In most cases, divorce is still illegal in the Philippines. When a Filipina says “I do”, they truly mean it for life. That means there are a few things to consider before dating them. Are there Children involved on either side? If not, she will expect to have children later. In the event you get married, you can expect late nights with her video-chatting her family. In some of the cultures, it is common for over five people to share one bedroom. Do you have a family network? In many circumstances, she may be with family 24-7, so even going to work could cause her to be lonely.
“She truly believes that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”
2. Rice, Rice, Rice and more Rice
Okay....this is definitely a staple of their diet. Expect rice for breakfast, lunch, dinner and any snacks in between. But it’s not always served by itself. It is normally accompanied by chicken, pork, fish or eggs. All things aside, the food tastes amazing and you probably won’t mind all the rice. She truly believes that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Your plate will magically refill itself, even if you have already said you can’t eat anymore, so you may want to create a safe word. Blocking your plate with your hands is simply not going to do the trick!
3. Temperament and Tampo:
“Tampo” is a word you will become very familiar with. In the Filipino Culture, “Tampo” is a childish behavior of silent treatment, pouting or withdrawing emotions for a seemingly insignificant reason which you will find out about later. However, they have many good attributes. She will truly have a servant's heart. This means she will be very understanding and caring after you have had a long day at work. Filipinas are also feisty, highly sociable, adventurous, jealous, passionate, procrastinators, affectionate, romantic, avoids confrontation, thoughtful, and traditional.
All things considered, it is my opinion that the selfless family-oriented culture of the Philippines helps create women that foster loving relationships that will stand the test of time. Let's say that you have weighed out the good and the bad and have decided to pursue love abroad. To discover the best ways to find your future wife, read: “Where to Meet a Filipina"
